As you walk down Hollywood Boulevard you can see lots of stars, well, not in person, but under your feet. The famous sidewalk known as the Hollywood Walk of Fame started in 1960 in front of the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. Brian Keith (Family Affair) received his star on the walk of fame last month and was the 2,643 star.
The stars are given in categories and it’s marked on the star below their name with one of five symbols. A motion picture camera (for movie stars directors), a television set (for those in the film industry), a phonograph record (for singers, songwriters, and recording artists), a radio microphone (for radio luminaries), the twin theatrical masks of comedy & tragedy for live stage performers).
Thirteen celebrities that are receiving a star in 2008 include;
Stan Lee (Marvin Comics creator),
Brian Keith (“Family Affair”)
Susan St. James (“McMillan & Wife”)
Howie Mandel (“Deal or No Deal”)
Kate Linder (“The Young and the Restless”)
Sherwood Schwartz (creator of “Gilligan’s Island & “The Brady Bunch”)
George Harrison (The Beatles)
The Red Hot Chili Peppers
Brooks & Dunn
