Thursday Thirteen - At the Movies - Mr. President

Since the beginning of Hollywood the President of the United States has been portrayed in movies. With the inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States earlier this week it makes one wonder if Hollywood is now going to make a string of movies with the focus being on the Presidency. After all, art gets inspiration from real life and who better to set the stage than our new President.

See if you remember some of these movies in our Thursday Thirteen.

That is a great line-up of both actors and movies. I am embarrassed to say many of which I have not seen.

There was also Alexander Knox, who played Woodrow Wilson in Daryl Zanuck's forgotten film "Wilson" from 1944. Edward Herrmann played FDR in two television miniseries, "Eleanor and Franklin" and a subsequent sequel covering his years in the White House. I'm not sure of this, but I think Herrmann even reprised the FDR role for the film version of "Annie."

I missed all of those movies, but I did like Ronald Reagan's movies, if that counts.
