The Real Hollywood Book Chats interviews HBF Teacher about the novel No Teachers Left Behind. We give HBF a chance to pick the Hollywood actors who would play the lead role in the movie. HBF Teacher has been a public school Middle grades teacher for three years. Before that, HBF substitute taught for two years. HBF has also worked as a live-in nanny and an accounts payable representative. Today when not nurturing young minds, HBF enjoys travel, photography, culinary arts, and the cinema. About the Book:
Explored through a series of poems, emails, and brief conversations, No Teachers Left Behind is a fictional yet realistic look at the frustrations of middle school staff.

Chipped paint, faulty wiring

and broken desks sit

in one tiny classroom.

Too many students.

Too few books.

Two job-carrying parents

of latch key kids who desire nothing

more than a free lunch.

They hate, without knowing,

the teachers who dare to care.

Hi HBF Teacher.

Welcome to The Real Hollywood Blog,

Hello RH. I’m so excited to be here talking about my realistic, fiction novel No Teachers Left Behind today.

RH: If your book were sold for movie rights which actor/actress would you want to play the main character?

The character Katie Pitts is a dedicated and determined assistant principal who really wants to make a difference. She is prevented from doing this by her temperamental boss, Principal Alicia Marsh. Marsh will do anything, even overlook extreme misbehaviors, to keep the school’s attendance count elevated and make herself look good.

I would love to see Amy Adams as Katie Pitts. She has a soft personality but can come across as very strong willed. As the passionate Katie, she would light up the screen. Meryl Streep, is an extremely talented and versatile actress. I would love to see her play Principal Marsh against Adams’ Katie.

The two actresses did an outstanding job with Julie and Julia, and I know they would do an amazing job with No Teachers Left Behind.

RH: Who would you want to play the supporting characters?

The supporting characters of No Teachers Left Behind include outspoken teachers Tracey Peterson, Shawna White, Angela Williams, Sandra Wyatt, Marcus Watts, and Peter Pilsher. The actors and actresses playing those roles would be

Tarij P. Henson as Tracey Peterson
Emile Hirsch as Peter Pilsher
Michael Weatherly as Marcus Watts
Christina Applegate as Sandra Wyatt
Queen Latifah as Shawna White
Tina Fey as Angela Williams.

Although No Teachers Left Behind delivers a serious message about the American educational system, the novel still has a humorous side, which is revealed through email conversations between the characters. This mix of drama and comedy needs a well-rounded and talented cast. The actors and actresses I just mentioned are some of the best in Hollywood.

RH: Who is your favorite actor and/or actress?

Without a doubt, George Clooney is my favorite actor on the planet. The gifted Halle Berry is my favorite actress.

RH: Is there a movie you could watch over and over again?

I watch the Coen Brothers’ O Brother, Where Art Thou over and over again. I think it’s one of the greatest films ever made.

RH: Who is your favorite author? What books have you read by this author?

I really like James Patterson. I’ve read Cross Country, Double Cross, Roses are Red, Violets are Blue, and all the other books in the Alex Cross series.

RH: What is next on the horizon for you?

I am currently working on the sequel to No Teachers Left Behind. After that task is completed, I have plans to write a play about people who are looking for one thing but end up finding exactly what they need. Of course, it’s not working they were looking for, but again, it is what they need.

RH: Where can my readers find your website?

I love the choice of these three:

Christina Applegate as Sandra Wyatt
Queen Latifah as Shawna White
Tina Fey as Angela Williams

This is a great book for anyone with kids or those involved in our public schools.

Thanks for hosting HBF today.
